In a rural town in North Wales, mussel harvester Jack (Barry Ward) has been married to his wife, Maggie, for more than half his life. He is troubled by his son Tom, who has little interest in the family trade. When Jack meets Daniel(Lorne MacFadyen), an itinerant deckhand, their attraction creates an impossible dilemma.
At first, Jack and Daniel's attraction is hidden and hard to notice, but it later grows stronger. Daniel wants more than secret meetings, but Jack struggles to accept his feelings and is afraid of being found out.
